Tranquility in a beautiful location
The accommodation itself was wonderful (once I figured out where it was). It was clean, modern, and spacious. Although I didn't need it at the time of year, it was a nice touch to have an electric fireplace. The kitchen had several small appliances and everything I needed. The patio doors look out to the forest, and it was quiet, peaceful, and restful. There was a grill and fire pit, so everything you need to spend the evenings outside. It was also nice to relax in the pool at the end of the day. The studio was basement level of a cabin with an upstairs unit, but it felt very private. I would recommend this as a place to stay, especially if you are visiting the Astrolab.
The only negative is that it was difficult to find my accommodation. It is a cabin, and I was told that I was staying in 204B. When I arrived, the cabin was 204. There was no signage indicating that I had to go around to the back of the cabin and that the door was underneath the back deck. Once I ventured down the side hill, there was 204B painted on the side of the upstairs deck. Since this is self check-in, the front side should be labeled 204A and there should be a sign with an arrow indicating to walk down and around to the back of the cabin for 204B. I tried calling, but the person didn't speak English. I eventually did walk around to the back of the cabin, but I felt as if I were trespassing until my entry code worked on the door underneath the back deck. That being said, the accommodation was lovely, comfortable, and convenient for the Astrolab. The kitchen had everything I needed, but it would have been nice to have some coffee for the coffee maker. I would also suggest blinds or curtains for the patio doors. It wasn't a big problem because of the isolation, but if anyone came to the door, they would see you lying in bed.
