Unsolved mystery
The location was great as it was near shops, restaurants and even a flower market on Saturday. There is however a nightclub in the plaza across the street. I never heard noise from the actual club but the party goers made their presence known in the middle of the night.
This was a very strange experience and one I've never encountered before. My first two nights (out of three) were terrible as I was not able to sleep. The mattress was the most uncomfortable thing I've ever been on. I could feel metal bars and springs digging into my body as I tried to slumber. Now, I'm not a delicate flower and have had better nights sleep while camping with just a sleeping bag. I'm currently pregnant and was looking forward to getting some much needed rest while on my solo trip. This clearly didn't happen and by night three I decided to strip the sheets/covers off the bed, as I began to wonder if there was no mattress but rather a box spring, that I was expected to sleep on. I found that the mattress had been turned over. I have no idea why. I discovered that not only was it turned over but there was an actual mattress topper attached to the underside as well. Making it obvious which side should in fact face up and be slept on. I flipped the mattress, made the bed and tried to get some sleep but by then I'd already missed 2 & 1/2 nights worth of much needed rest. Oh, and the shower didn't drain. I'm sure anyone knows how absolutely disgusting it is to be standing in water contaminated by the ghost of Christmas Past. Yes, I mentioned these items to the front desk and they replied with "so sorry for the inconvenience. I will let Housekeeping know". However, I feel it would be best if Upper Management did an impromptu check on all the rooms to assess if the quality and standards being peddled are actually being met.
