Great location and friendly staff,...
Great location, room big for NYC, staff helpful; small balcony so good for fresh air
No kettle / coffee maker, but you get one if you ask for it. Incredibly noisy. Groups of women running from room to room, slamming doors and shouting, from midnight to 3am. Hotel staff had to intervene. This happened on 3 nights. Soundproofing is very poor, gaps around the door and thin doors.

generally great but call ahead...
the location is just terrifically great, especially for the whitney and the high line. human scale with little traffic and congestion. lots of decent restaurants and cafes, great local coffee within a quick walk. kobrick and maman are great for coffee … and maman bakery things are unusual and fabulous…two starbucks including a roastery store [which is well, a starbucks but gigantic]. buddakan has superior asian food a wow interior and i love the food. catch is expensive and just okay and filled with google employees whose parents must pay their rent, presumably. sweet green is great for healthy food but it’s takeout. i like that the G has a sofa and a table and it’s comfortable and quiet. the service is professional and pleasant. problems get fixed quickly.
the restaurants were closed, including the really nice sushi place for the two nights i was there. i get monday, but tuesday?? no warning on that. I generally love this hotel and stay a lot but there was no air conditioning and i couldn’t get the room under 75, which for me is terrarium level heat. it wasn’t clear if it was broken or they just turned it off. i got two different stories. yes, the windows open which is great but then you listen to the city which is not conducive to sleeping. that’s not a 5 star experience at a 5 star price. are we supposed to call ahead?
