I strongly advise against staying at this hotel.
The only good thing to write about this hotel is that the location is great. Very close from the station to which we will get AirTrian from JFK airport. Well - the other good thing - is that the hotel was there at all. Because in fact LeTap Hotel was turned into a shelter.... but fortunately, right next door is the OYO Hotel to which I was transferred and a room was waiting for me. Nothing more good I can write.
First, the neighborhood. Dirty, dangerous, full of homeless people or drunks on the streets. Next to the hotel a shelter, speaks for itself. Second, the hotel staff completely uninterested in hotel guests. At the reception notoriously no one was there, you had to wait for service and when someone did come - he was impatient that someone dragged him away from more important things. Third, cleanliness. The hotel generally smells bad, the corridor floors are sticky, there is semi-darkness and an atmosphere of danger. The room I checked into was neither swept nor vacuumed. At least the bedding and towels were prepared. Fourth, not working air conditioning - there was a stove prepared, I do not know how in the summer - perhaps they will put a fan. Fifth, a clogged sink - water would not drain. Sixth, it took a very long time to wait for hot water, at first only cold water flies. Seventh, the door to the room did not inspire confidence - it looked as if someone had already opened it several times with a kick. I was afraid to leave my things in the room. Eighth and finally, loud parties in the rooms next door or brawls in the corridor - to which no one paid attention. In the hotel mostly stayed African-Americans and Latinos - maybe it's their way of life? I strongly advise against staying at this hotel.
