Not what you see in...
Bed was comfortable, comfortable pillows. Good shower pressure. Courtyard is cute like the photos. Tv is giant.
I have never had a bad Booking.com experience until now. Usually, the photos on Booking.com match what you get when you book. This hotel does NOT match - yes, the old California motel rooms face a cute courtyard, BUT you also have a back door to your hotel room that faces a super shady parking lot that is unlit, no cameras, no security, has construction storage all over, and is isolated. This hotel seems to be where construction workers spend the night, which given the isolation of the parking lot and having a back door to your hotel room doesn't feel safe in California if you're a lady traveling alone or an older couple. The hotel is right off the 101, but the entrance requires you drive through a tiny industrial cul-du-sac that has RVs and abandoned cars parked in it (which happens in isolated areas of California). This doesn't feel good for walking or driving past. Since it's an old CA motel, the windows are 1950s, my bathroom window was cracked and wasn't locking/closing. So, I went outside and made sure to wedge it shut - it faced the parking lot and would be unsafe to leave a 1st floor human-sized window unlocked all night. I booked two nights on Booking. I slept 0 hours the first night - a woman was screaming drunk or high at 10pm the first night. There are three massive locks on the doors (unpictured in photos on booking). I packed up my things and took them with me in the day, worried about leaving them in the room. I ended up coming back, booking a different hotel in Novato, and checking out - I could not spend another night there alone. Yelp has accurate reviews of this hotel and photos. If you're a passing-through construction worker or burly dude, or have a giant dog, this is a fine place to stay. If you're a young woman alone, probably not a good option for you. The photos here are misleading. And, the pool was closed unlike the listing showed.
