Value-oriented property currently being renovated
The room was clean and seemed well maintained, but aging. The bed was comfortable. The current renovation that is underway will likely improve everything.
Renovation noise was worse than I expected during the day. Breakfast was really the minimum for a "free" hotel breakfast.

Convenient location but probably wouldn't...
Didn't eat. Not much there.
The pillows were terrible. I slipped on some ice that was on the sidewalk going into the hotel.

disappointing - dirty water coming...
I liked that the dishes were not styrofoam, but paper. The cinnamon raisin bread seemed adequately fresh. The beds were comfortable, although I wondered if they wash the comforter cover each time there is a new guest.
I paid 98 dollars for a room with two beds. What I got was maybe ok for a $40 room. It looked old and not in a good way -- outdated with no extra outlets near the bed for charging phones or for devices like CPAPs. The most annoying thing was that I was really looking forward to having a hot bath after a long drive cross-country and specifically requested a room with a bath tub. When I went to turn on the water, this brown red liquid gushed forth. I ran the water for quite some time, but it still had a pinkish hue. I asked and got another room, which had the same pink water, I ran the water for quite some time and it was still pink. The next day, the water had dried leaving a pink red crust on the tub. I asked both the night staff and the morning staff about the dirty water coming out of the tub. The water in the toilet and sink in both rooms was fine. They did not know why there would be this problem. I did take pictures of the contrast between the water (from brown to pink) in the tub and the toilet (clear). The staff were nice enough, but clueless about why the water in the tubs in both rooms was dirty/discolored. It would have been a nice gesture to give me a partial refund on my room, due to the fact that I could not use the tub (or the shower) because of the dirty water. At breakfast, the only protein sources were milk and yogurt. Coffee was from a machine and was not good. I did not see any tea or hot water. There should be hot water and a selection of tea bags. And at least boiled eggs. For the price I paid there should have been hot breakfast options of scrambled eggs, sausage. Regarding location, while it is true that it is near an exit for Interstate 80, what I didn't realize is that it is not in the town of Grand Island, as the name indicates. It took us an additional 18 minutes/11 miles to drive to find a restaurant. Happily we found a great Vietnamese restaurant, but I didn't like having to drive so far.
