The pool and lazy river
They texted no fewer than 5 times asking what time we are arriving and whether we had any special requests. Each time I replied: 4 pm; dog friendly room on ground floor please. Our room was not ready at 4, which is their stated, standard check in time. They said: it’s stated, it’s not guaranteed, and sent us away to wait. 15 minutes later, they texted us and a room full of other guests that our rooms were ready so we all arrived at the same to check in and waited in line. The room was fine but not on ground floor so they did not honor our request. When I sat on the bed, my jeans were covered in thousands of pieces of white lint from the shredded bedspread the maids saw fit to put on this newly made bed. I pulled it off, bundled it on the floor, and got a blanket out of the closet to use as a bedspread.
